I first noticed a peace of a tenticle in the water column after rearanging some rocks. I assumed that I must have moved it too fast or something and somehow one of the tentacles ripped off. I tried to catch it with my baster but couldn't find it. A couple of weeks later I found it in my sands only it looked like a miniture neon hammer with a tiny stump. I glued it to rock and it's growing like crazy. Today I found 2 more little hammers in between my rubble. I'd love to know how this is happening.

hmm that is not how they grow. What is the condition of the original parents, are there visible empty spots or stems? If so then the coral might be "jumping ship" where the actual live portions leave the "skeleton" for one reason or another and usually doesn't survive to create another skeletal base

Agreed..check your parameters and make sure they all correct and in balance with each other...especially your Alk.

I understand the indicator of a frgospawn reproducing is a 'bubble' that forms within one of the heads of the colony. Often you will also find tiny new heads on the skeleton below existing heads. If these are exposed to light, they often grow into full grown heads.

Also beware that any small pieces you have that settle on other corals will sting them!

Sorry guys, it's not my hammer it's my frogspawn and my parameters are fine as are my frogspawn. I now have 2 tiny frogspawn. One I glued to a rock and the other is still too small to glue down. But both of them are growing.
