So here is the thing I bought this guy yesturday from http://www.manhattanreefs.com/forum/sale-trade/41139-large-lta-staten-island.html

He was fine last night, I get back home today and he has all this slime all all over him and is retracted in.

He just detached from the rock he was on.

What do i do?

My water is fine all the other fishes are doing well. I do have a fish only tank is that the reason.

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Do I try to feed him, should I add calcium?

Probably from his slime. I'm no expert but many corals and related creatures do this kind of thing under stress or changing conditions so it could just be part of its acclimation.

Lights under 96 watt 10K and T5
I keep light on for about 4 hours in the morning and 6 hours at night with blue moon before and after

I have been home for about 3 hours and still sliming a lil but looks like is is trying to move around he is huge and really dont want to loose this one.

Should I do a water change? later this week or wait and see

Yes it doesn't too good, but my anemones have bounced back from things like that. And they can take some time to get used to a new tank.

If it does start disintegreting though, get it out of the tank so it doesn't foul the water.

That's very little light for a LTA if you're only running two bulbs. Can you expand on what kind of T-5 light you're running?

Also if you're turning your lights of for 4 hours, turning them off, then turning them on again, you're probably stressing the animals that are in your tank. Imagine trying to fit two days into one, thats kind of what I see it as. The corals open, expand, and close in a normal day, with your cycle it seems the would open, expand, close, open, expand, close in one day, which cant be good.

Maybe i'm just reading it wrong, but it seems you have two different photoperiods.

Don't know if that made sense, but I tried.

The water is getting a little dim
why is this

What do you mean by this?

Also - what is the temp of the water?

I agree with Nanoreefer...you appear to be running 2 photoperiods in a single day. You should really rethink that and either leave the lights on early in the day or later in the day for a more normal period of time.

Do you have a full tank shot please?

Don't you dare to loose this guy!

It's not easy to grow this guy to this size and I still have a feeling for it.

First, your acclimation is too fast for it. It should be at least for 3 hours to be in the safe side. Did you check the SG and pH when it first come to you vs. your SG. Your meter may be very different from Doug's. Don't try to feed him and calcium is not what it takes to help. If it has eaten something in your tank it will shrivel up but not slimy. Keep an eye on whether it is deteriorating. Is there any abnormal smell building up? Can you repeat with details about your and light and the height of your tank again?
