SO, I posted a few days ago about my frogspawn dying( 2 heads), now a third is gone...just "melted" away in less than 2 days. My yellow polyps are looking bad too...everything else(chili coral, leather coral, toadstool coral) all doing great. I thought these two were "easy" with good parameters.
I have done tests...
0 nitrates, nitrites,phos,
2.5 alk
1.023 salinity
425 calcium
8.3 pH
temp 79

I added PhosBan per a suggestion from the thread...I can't figure it out.

any thoughts?:banghead:

Flow?
Frogspawn can be sensitive to where it is placed in a tank and nano's aren't the easiest tank to be able to move things around in...
My sun polyps didn;t open for the longest time when they were in a flow area they didn't like. I moved them to higher flow and there're much happier there.
Do you have a pic of the tank?

Isn't salinity 1.023 a little low?
Not really!

Navynano, as KathyC stated; could be the flow! You have to place in just the right spot. Not to much, nor direct flow, but not to little either.;) Same goes for the Yellow Polyps.
Did you see any brown slimy stuff on the frog spawn? God I hope not, cause that might mean "Brown Jelly Disease".
I am surprised that you are having problems with 2 of the easier corals.
Please keep us posted, and do try to post pics. Pics are most helpful in diagnosing problems..

Now that you mention the brown jelly, it may have had some brown stuff on it as it perished...it was hard to tell as I thought it was just the frog dying...the "socket" is now empty and my two larger heads remain.

I will post a picture of what it looked like and how it does now...I have it in the front right corner of the Nano. Return water at the top, and a another powerhead over in the bottom left. It seems to have "medium" water flow and it does not look like it being tossed around, but it is my first Frogspawn, so I am not certain.

Thanks for the input!
This is how it looked 4 weeks ago, when I first purchased it.

I also want to add this...

I have done a lot of reading on this family lately along with many comments on MR, and everyone says to spot feed it...but when I do(cyclopeaze, baby brine,...)it doesn't "eat" them...they do not react at all when I shoot food into them...Normal?

When you do not know the cause the best bet is do more frequent water changes. This dilutes anything in the water that should not be there and it also increases trace elements that are in the salt.

I would raise salinity.

I do not spot feed my frog spawns, hammers, or torch. They grab what they grab from the water column as I feed the other corals & fish a mixture of cyclo, mysis, and rods food.;)
It is really a very pretty one. My best wishes for a healthy recovery.
It doesn't sound/look like it needs more flow. Do follow what Basiab has already stated. I do weekly water changes of about 20%.

Frogspawn

I have a suggestion.,Why not give it to someone you know with a more stable water chemistry untill you find out what going on in your tank. Its such a nice piece i would hate to see completly die off, just a suggestion.
