can anybody tell me why my duncan coral and ricordias look like this,duncan has not been expanded like a week now and ricordias lost there color since i switched tanks,i added like 3" of sand on top of the old sand ,i got pleanty of light and water movement any ideas?:eek:

i got a 65g with a 55g sump 25w uv sterilizer,protein skimmer,an outer 342 watt outer orbit metal halide,light,2 koralia 2,and a maxijet 1200, with a wave master pro.i havent cheked my water in a while now,i assume its good.since my other corals and fish look good

you know what they say about assuming....
You need to test phosphate, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, calcium, alk, ph.
And an educated guess from you adding the sand would be that you caused another cycle in your tank by adding 3" of sand, and killing off all the aerobic bacteria.

when adding sand to an established tank, it shouldn't be poured right over the existing sand bed but mixed in with the existing sand. my guess is you disturbed the balance in your tank
