what to feed a candy coral

just wondering if i have to feed my candy coral something other then dt's phytoplankton ? thanks

you don't "have" to feed any coral anything. They should get plenty of food from the lights and whatever nutrients are in the water. Only coral you need to feed is stuff like dendro's, sun polyps ect which are non photosynthetic.

I agree with Tosiek. I have a candy cane and I never spot fed it. I only give DT's and good light.

I wouldn;t recommend any type of phyto. It just wastes away and creates Po4 in your tank. Might benefit some things in your tank but the majority of it just sits in your water rotting.

I feed my candy canes mysis and cyclopeeze
In addition I feed my Ricordia Blastos Palys Brain and Dendros, I feel it gives them a good boost and they seem to enjoy it.
Feed them if you like but you dont have to.

Pods and their larvae would be considered zooplankton. Phytoplankton is algae based.

Corals can survive off of light but they will also benefit from food as well...i feed acans, bubble coral, ricordias, blastos and the zoa palys grab food when they can...mysis and cyclopleeze will do the trick

If the flow is off, only gravity should move the mysis...

My corals get whatever food that my fish misses. I don't try to feed the corals itself.
