ok after staring at my tank one of my sps i seen movement, looks like little flea's running all around on it, can't see it on the other's but this one the color just stands out. i really dont want to pull all rock and corals out, can treat in tank easier to pull snails and hermits out, but i do have zoa's and a rbta in there also, other than doing a huge water change and running carbon afterwards anything else i need to do ? and how long should i wait to put return from sump back on and how long before i can put clean up crew back in

I'm not an authority on red bugs, but what course of treatment are you planning? You mentioned carbon, water changes and removing some inverts. You need to treat with chemicals.....OUTSIDE OF YOUR TANK. I believe Tropic Marin Pro Cure is what everyone uses. Do a search on here. Check Jon Hales treatment, I know it worked.

if you going to pull all you inverts from you tank, i would dose the interceptor and leave it in there for a full week....interceptor is pretty much harmless even at higher doses....then do your water changes and etc

Treatment as per Fritz:

1. Ground half a tablet up as fine as you possibly can and mix up with some Ro.
2. Stop skimming, stop running carbon, stop running any type of Phos media.
3. Dose the interceptor solution
4. After 48 hours perform a 20% water change and dose again.
5. After 36-48 hours do a 20% water change and dose again.
6. Do a 20% water change and start skimming, running carbon and running phos media.

Is there any other treatment for red bugs besides interceptor? I don't want to dose my whole tank. Just one coral i have carries them. I just want to put the coral in a separate container and treat.

Dose the whole tank. If you have them on one they are on them all. Treating one coral does nothing unless you are planning never to place back in the tank.

unless you have one acro in the tank then dose the entire thing.

The last time I dosed I pulled the cheato from my sump and kept it in a 20G rubbermaid along with all the crabs I could get out of the tank. This gave a jump start to the pod population.

Interceptor is one of the safest way to get rid of red bugs, i would not try anything else, TMPC will kill red bugs as well as AEF, But not safe and cannot be applied as an in tank method. Remember that you have to make sure that the interceptor is running through all your existing equipment to make sure it work effectively....... Rick after you dose you will be fine... and your acros will polyp up almost immediately after dosing the interceptor....

If you only have 1 acro in your tank then you can treat the one acro and keep it out of your system for 7 days. During that time any left behind will die. This is according to Borneman. If you leave any acros in there this won't work.
