I love that quote. I had a rock piece dry a few days to kill them after scraping them off and after i put it back a week later i had more growing on that same rock.

great read. one thing i thought id mention, i have a nice xenia colony growing and actually just fragged my first piece. when i got them they pulsed like crazy. my ph is 8 -8.1 and i read that they needed to be at 8.3. i adjusted upwards and they stopped pulsing. now the ph has been dropping again and they havent started to pulse like they used to.

give them some time.......If i starve mine from the light a little they stop pulsing. It can take a couple of weeks before they start back!

xenia will stop pulsing with a low ph but it also depends on ur salinity and ur other water parameters. I had xenia pulse in low ph water....

How much is frag of non pulsing xenia???? Really, I want to know...Maybe purchase a polyp or 2...

dude after a while it just becomes a nuisance. But a frag of it is about $10....

this is my xenia pulsing after a long tank move with rocks going out of the tank and then back in.. Nitrates were high...The xenia was pulsing even more...
