Hi all,
First time using Lugols as a dip.
Is it supposed to turn water yellow?
How many drops/gallon do you normally use and do you use it in fresh or saltwater?
Thanks.
I've used 2 drops per 1 gal RO water for 5 mins for my zoos. The instructions on the bottle state 40 drop for saltwater, haven't tried that. Also, some people add FWE to it for flatworms.
Some good threads on reef central on dipping corals.
The last I read on the thread on RC (which goes on forever and has an updated suggestion later on in the thread for the amount to use...) said to use 6 -7 drops per gallon of RODI water as a preventative dip & to rid zoas of possible pests.
As Emps stated, FWE can also be added to that mix with no harm.
Let zoa sit in mixture for 5 minutes and then strongly 'swish' the coral back and forth to dislodge any pest you may have killed off. I usually do a real quick rinse in RODI water before adding the zoas back into my tank.
