A few days ago, I noticed a branch on the bottom of the tank, now another piece seems to be breaking off.According to Borneman's "Aquarium Corals", this is how they propagate. Will it attach to something by itself, or should I glue or band it onto something? Thanks in advance.
Either stick it in a low flow area with some live rock rubble underneath it and it'll attach on its own or superglue it to some rubble. Both will work.
I have the same thing happen with mine i just get the frags and stick them in a hole in the rock and they take off good luck.

I like to use rubber bands. This trick is to put it on tight enough just to hold it in place. It works on most sot corals. I have had no luck with colt using this method.
Just wedge it in a hole or between liverock pieces and put some "Coral Accel" in the tank. Keep water quality perfect and it will attach n about a week.
It keeps doing it, breaking off and they are attaching by themselves. i have about (6) now attached and I see another ready to break off. Will I have a problem with them overtaking the tank?
