...Not sure which forum to put this - so feel free to move it!

I got four zoa frags at the swap, and at this point, three of them are doing fine and one is really really not.

the one that is not doing fine was doing fine for the first week or so.

i'm thinking it's not a general tank condition problem, b/c then wouldn't they all have problems? (thanks to swimmer for pointing this out)

this zoa had suffered from an aptasia landing on it, which i removed, clearly irritating some of the polyps, but not all of them (I thought) but now only one (of maybe 10) polyps are opening...

Also, this zoa was the only one to be glued down yet. It's in a low spot in the tank, only about three inches higher than the other zoas. it's also in a relatively low-flow area.

...suggestions?

Usually they don't hold a grudge about being temporiarly irritated. If you've inspected it for other irritators (nudis, sundial snails) and see none, try holding it in front of one of your returns for a minute so it gets a bunch of flow and then put it in a moderate flow area. Zoas need not be kept in a low flow area. Good luck with it! :)

I agree with Dean and with Kathy. You might also want to try a freshwater dip. Slosh them around in the fw for a couple of minutes. Then you can relocate them to another spot.

Zoos are very resilient. I hope they come back, they were beautiful.

that aptasia problem is pretty bad. they will eventually get to everything you like in the tank and sting it to death.
if you don't want to start over with new rocks, or cook the old ones, I'd recommend an army of pep. shrimps.

Looks like you could save a polyp or two, if you think it's worth your time. Also the fungus doesn't look too developed... furan2 capsule dips have worked wonders for me when it comes to zoapox. Also putting them in an area of high flow might aid with the pox.
