I got him on Thursday and he looked like this:

Now he's only half there, the other part where her used to be is purple with "bumps" all over it (I don't have a pic yet)

Is he dying ??

No , that's what they look like when their polyps are retracted (purple mat with bumps). If all your water parms are correct I wouldn't worry about it sometimes they retract for a day or two until they get use to their new location. Mine likes a good indirect flow and lights on them to get them to open up.

I don't have any critters in there and he has a Koralia right above him - the "hairs" move nicely in the flow....like you guys said he's probably just getting acclimated to my tank, I'll keep an eye on him....Thanks !!!

Just a suggestion, You should move it off the rock, and onto the sand.

These things are very invasive and will cover your rocks in no time.
On the sand, you can just pick up the whole mat and cut it into frags.
Then glue the frags to small rocks, and place them in the sand.

Just my opinion.
