Having problems with my Acro's. Last week i had a problem with low alk and one of my acro colonies started dying on me. I raised it back and stabalized it and slowed its death but it was too late. Now my other acro is starting to dye at its base, same way the other did. I don't want to lose it.
Its getting enough flow and its about 10" away from the bottom of my 250 hqi mh pendant. Tank parameters are as follows:
alk 0
trites 0
trates .5
sal 1.025
calc 420-450
alk 3.5
phos slight reading on the test kit. 0.2 or less.
Could it be too far from the lights? Too little flow? Everything else in my tank is doing great besides zoo's which are a little slow to open up soemtimes but i think the lights are a bit bright for them, the ones in the shade are doing great and acting normal. I'm dosing 2 part and iodine/strontium as trace elements.
only thing i can think of is the flame angel nibbling on them and starting the process. I gotto get rid of him. He was biting the base of the first acro before it started to dye. And i think he might be nibbling on this one now.
