Anampses meleagrides--the yellowtail tamarin wrasse. Gorgeous fish, but not an easy one to keep. In general Anampses wrasses don't do well in captivity often fading away mysteriously even when they are eating well. The yellowtail is probably the hardiest of the bunch and I did manage to keep one alive for several years --it passed during a tank crash.
The good news is that much like the leopard wrasses, the tamarins seem to be fairing better these days than they used to as I have seen more folks succeeding with several species. Once it settles in it should eat a wide range of things.

Good luck with it and keep us posted.

Hi Randy

You hit it right on the head, the fish is shipping much better than it did a few years ago. We have not been losing many during the acclimation process, in the past if you ordered 8, 4 were dead on arrival and the other 4 were so beat up you were lucky if one made. I have a 5" Yellow Tail in my reef for a few months and he is a very picky eater. He is aggressive when food is introduced but ONLY eats frozen or freeze dried bloodworms, Lots of them but he spits any other food out

Charlie it was good seeing you

Andy
