I few months ago I started seeing what looks like small green marbles growing on my rocks and sand. They are hard but will "pop" if squeezed. I have been checking water conditions closer and more frequently now and found that my salinity had gotten pretty low. (.021-2) I have slowly raised it over the last couple weeks to .025 and the growth has slowed and begun receeding. So, the questions are, what is it? is it really bad? how do i get rid of it? what does it mean???

Thanks and I can send pics if needed.

I guess I need to read a little closer. Found it in the FAQ. Sorry, forgive the "quick" post. I WILL be more diligent in the future to look first and ask later.

BUBBLE algae.

it CAN become problematic.

The easiest way to remove it is to carefully just pull it off the rocks and throw it away. You dont want to pop the bubbles, or it will release algae spores into your water and make more.
