New kids on the block?

i'm sorry for the super huge pic, but i couldn't get enough of these guys in a macro shot that would give you the full effect of what i am seeing without it.
can anyone identify these little star-like things on the glass?
this tank is about 2 months old.
they don't seem to move, but i guess they had to move to get stuck to the glass

My tank is 1 month old today.

I have hundreds, if not thousands of those things on my back glass. Right under the skimmer, as if they like the flow.

I was also wondering what they were.

Are they 3 dimentional at all? Or just flat? Could they be some kind of foraminiferan colony? If they don't move, that's what comes to mind with me.

They look a bit like Hydrozoan you can check the hitchhiker faq page here on rdo to be sure but your pics look like it to me.

Hydroid. They typically go away on their own.

+1 for Hydroid JellyFish. They'll look like they'll be taking over your glass (easy to scrape off) and then decline on their own. Harmless.
