I have a 50lb box of live rock that is coming in from LAX, I ordered it through liverockusa.com

I have heard of a lot of ways to cure the rock, but it seems like everybody has there own way of doing it.

If anyone has a link to a website on curing rock please let me know.

I plan on getting off all the old sponges, and plants.
I plan on using a 15g rubbermate tub with a bak-pak skimmer and 1 maxijet 1200 pump for circulation. For about 3 weeks

I have only heard good things about liverockusa.com
They told me that when the rocks get to LAX, the boxes aren't opened and are sent on the next plane to Dallas Tx at the local airport where I live.
I am worried that my ammonia level might spike and kill all the good live stuff on the rock.
Please help me if you can.

i don't think you can do anything more than you plan to already.
however, i don't think 50 pounds of rock will fit in a 15 gallon tub. :?

mr. x, i have some pieces of rock that could be almost 30/40 pounds, i think and they would fit in a 15 gallon tub.

sounds like you have everything planned pretty well, but 3 weeks doesnt seem very long for curing live rock that hasnt been cured, thats average for cured live rock that is being shipped due to die off, it was always my understand it takes longer for uncured rock to cure, Also didnt see anything about heating during your curing process, for curing live rock a site I really liked was....

good luck :)
