I went down to check on the tank this morning, and overnight had a sudden explosion of these little things all over the glass. They are so tiny (1 mm or so) that it was really hard to get a picture with my camera. Most of them had a more solid white part (as can be seen in the picture) toward the back end of their bodies.

Anyone know what these are?

Hard to tell exactly from the picture. Do they look similat to little shrimp? Probably some sort of "pod".

looks like maybe a female copepod with an egg sack, as the white speck beside it resembles very much like the calanoid copepod

I have the same thing in my tank, I know this thread is old, but i just wanted to know if these were ok, and what can I get to eat them?

They are benefitial algea and detritus eaters, and they are fish food. While lots of stuff will feed on them occationally, I'm not sure what would really go after them. I don't think it's necessarily a good idea to clean them out of your system though.
