The other day I was looking at my now diminishing brain coral and noticed a hole that is about 2 cm across. As I kept examining the hole I found out that two beedy eyes were stairing back at me. It looks as if some kind of crab took up residense and is now murdering my coral. If anyone has a clue I'm open for suggestions.

Hi Dopey

Interesting thing you have there. I'm not yet sure it's a crab in there. So the hole is really 2cm diameter? You see eyes? Do you see claws? Can you get a better photo that is focused on the thing?

There are vermetid snails that make and live in perfect-circle holes like that.

This is a little better picture of this creature. It comes in and out of this hole, but never completely reveals itself. The diameter of the hole is definitly around 2 cm. I could see eyes and what I believe to be claws. Hopefully this picture could help you a little more.
