anyone know what these things are?

Something in a shell with purple frills inside, and some sort of white cluster of small egg like things. These are not the best quality pics in the world but until ive learnt to use this blasted camera properly its the best i can do.

Quite large picture files so beware if you got a S-L-O-W connection
