Well... I tried leaning a standard plastic measuring cup w/ a piece of krill at the bottom against the rock with the gorilla crab in it tonight. I checked back an hour later, and just great, the Sally Lightfoot crab was holding the piece of krill and eating away (outside of the measuring cup).

I'm not sure if he went in and got out, or if the krill floated up out of the cup. Either way, that crab got it, and the gorilla crab didn't get a chance to get at it.

Any thoughts?

The way I was able to remove an unwanted hitchiker crab was by training it to eat from my hand.I knew where it would stay, and I carefully let my hand go near, holding a thick piece of frozen clam{comes in a package by O.N.}He began to eat from my hand.I let this go on for a few months,he became insesitive to my presence. Then one day..I made my move..he was easy to snatch out because he thought I was just going to feed him.

You backstabber! lol ;)

I just made the inverted 2 liter bottle trap. Gonna see how it works after lights out.

Well, I caught my sally lightfoot today... one down. Now I have to catch that damned Gorilla crab. I bought a mantis/crab trap today, and I'm gonna see how that works. You put a piece of food in this rectangle box on a small pressure sensitive pedestal in the back of the box that controls the trap door at the front. You could control the pressure of the pedastal as well, which is nice.

However, I've been using small chunks of krill as bait, and sometimes they don't sink very well. Is there a technique to get them to sink, or do you recommend a different food.

I'm really not sure what this crab I'm trying to catch eats.. but I'm pretty sure it's a Gorilla crab. Stalky little brown guy, and he's barreling holes/passageways/caves through rocks in the tank.
