Reefer
I found this in me 42g reef the other day... it just came out of a hole. I heard that everyone consider it a pest, what can it do in my tank? Searches shows many ways of getting rid of it...
Please advise

I agree. It looks like Aptasia. Getting rid of it can be hard, but to prevent spreading you can get a peppermint shrimp which will eat the spores. If you have a shrimp, then you can try to pull it out by hand or let it die naturally.
The problem with aptaisia is that if you just leave it alone, it will reproduce much more quickly than any corals and it stings them and eventually overruns them. I assume that if one were big enough, it could sting other animals as well.
There are also methods of injecting them with limestone or kalkwasser but I haven't needed to try them because of my little peppermint shrimp.

I recently found 2 in my system...the problem is, they are both right in the middle of my Zoo plug. I don't know how to get rid of them without damaging the coral.
