Hello everyone. I'm new here (obviously) My tank is fallow right now after what I believe was ick rapidly ran thru my tank. The surviving fish are in QT. Its been 1 wk. I have a 55 gal with skimmer, 2 pwr heads, penguin 330. I have LR and various plants. Tonight in the main tank, I discovered about a half dozen or more see thru little larvae looking things swimming around. they are about 1mm long. the only thing I have in my FOWLR tank is the clean up crew (snails, pods, and hermits) There is what I believe some (3) aipstasa that I havent got rid of yet. I also noticed about 1/4 mm starburst shaped see thru things on my front glass, too. I thot my glass had been broke at first, but realized its a critter...can't get a photo of them yet..any ideas?

It almost sounds like you're describing some sort of amphipod or copepod. Have you looked thru our Hitchhiker FAQ? http://www.reefs.org/hhfaq/

Yep more than likely they came in on your rock. They're perfectly safe. You may be interested to read thru some of the older issues of Advanced Aquarist as IIRC the Breeders column shows how to raise them: http://advancedaquarist.com/index

while Im here Shane, I do appreciate this-alot. I have these clear starburst looking things that showed up on my aquarium glass, and a bunch of white spots, too. guessing its eggs? any idea? Im relatively new if u couldn't guess.. thanks and thanks for the reference to the adv.aquarist...

Might be. We'd have to see a pic to get a better idea for certain as it could be any number of things. It wasn't in the Hitchhiker FAQ?
