I know this is a crappy pic, but the guy is hard to get a picture of.
This is Florida aquacultured rock. The first time I saw it, it was stretching up between some bubble algae. I went to bed and the next day I found him nestled between two of my 2cm flower anemones.
When i saw it the first time, it reminded me of a poppy flower, with skinny stem and a bulb just below the crown of tenticles. It is white, to gray in color and it's fingers are about a 1/2 cm across. When it was stretching, it was about a cm off the rock, but quickly retreated when I cleared the bubble algae to get a better look at him.
Funny that I would think of this, but do you remember the pictures of extinct Chrinoids (sp?) in our dinosaur books as kids? That is what it reminded me of... but less frilly.
I assume it is a worm because it moves across the rock, and when it retreats, i cannot find even a stump where he used to be.
I will try to get a better pic again. I have circled his crown of tenticles in this pic.
