Looks like a star, brown colored, aprox. 1/2 inch long, but, 10 legs. Good, bad, etc?

those dont look like legs to me, more like tentacles

Tentacles of a aptasia anemone!!!

Bad thing. Look in the Hitchiker FAQ
Best thing to do is let loose a few peppermint shrimps in you tank and let them try and do their thing

It may be another anemone - look up Edwardsia and Boloceroid could be either of those. Looks more like a boloceroid - a.k.a. 'swimming' anemone to me.

I have seen aptasia with really red coloration that look exactly like that one there.

However if it does crawl around and act like a star then its probably something else like dawn said.

When I said aptasia I was hesitant because its out of a rock and in substrate.
Unusual for an aptasia.

Whatever it is good luck

I don't see how that creature can be anything other than an anemone. It has some characteristics that are unlike Aiptasia. Aiptasia generally don't lay their tentacles flat and splayed on the substrate like that. They like to hold them up into the water column. And the color really doesn't seem right either.

I think Technoshaman is on the right track.

I never said it was not an anemone.
I said if it does things that are not regular for an aptasia it could be something else.

Technoshaman- if this is an Edwardsia variety, do I scoop it out, or leave it? Thanks, Dawn.

I thought most were sand dwelling species. I'd scoop it out if it bothers you but it's kind of neat - I'd leve it personally.
