• Why not take a moment to introduce yourself to our members?

No pics available as the 'threads' are barely a mm thick and same color as the sand. Without trying to sound sinister, they decend from the interior of one of our live rocks and extend outward 2-3 inches from the cavity. They are as thin as a thread, and there may be one or ten 'threads' creeping outward at any one time. Their action is more tentacle-like than worm-wriggling-like. And then, for some reason they will all start to retract up into the rock's interior and disappear. Tiny bits of sand adhere to the 'threads' as they retract upward.
Another event, possible connected or not, is a voluminous 'belch' of sand and debris from the interior of the same rock. Coincidence? Or creeping sea monster?

Thanks for any ideas.
