what is it ? *no pic*

I have noticed a rollie pollie looking thing in my tank. I have only seen it a few times, when i look at the tank right after i turn the light on. It then moves away and vanishes. it is gray and hump backed, a little less than 1/2 inch long and 1/4 inch wide. any info would be great.
