Hi,

During the night period of my tank, I noticed a tentacle which extended directly from the bottom section of a rock. It was extending from within the rock and looks very similar to the long snout of a queen conch when it is extended in terms of its texture, shape and maneurability. It moves about like a elephant's trunk and is banded white and black with a translucent like skin. Very smooth skin. At first, I thought it was a hitchhiker starfish, but after careful, it doesn't look like the appendages of any starfish that I've seen. Nor does it move like a starfish leg. I swear, It looks exactly like the snout of a queen conch, only it extends from a hole exactly the same diameter as the tentacle and would not fit the shell of a queen conch of the size needed to match the length and diameter of this tentacle. Any ideas?

I've seen the same in my tank, and assumed it was some sort of worm, possibly a featherduster that has lost its crown.

8O It extended almost two whole inches out of the hole. That would be one large worm. But doesn't featherworms extend out of a tube? Mine has no tube-like structure.
