Experienced Reefer
I have seriously found hundreds of these snails in my tank recently. They kinda stay hiding during the day....but when night comes...they come out and cover the glass everywhere. They kinda have a tiger like patteren on their Astria shaped shells. I don't know if they hitchiked in on my LR or if some of my other snails were reproducing. Also, I want to know if these snails look parasitic to clams. Thanks.

P.S. I know my camara sucks so just do your best to deal with the pictures. :?

I cant give you a name but I also have thousands of these in my tank. You wouldnt know about them if the only time you looked at the tank was during the day. I got about a dozen of these from a friends tank last year. Now when its dark they cover EVERYTHING.

But one thing I can tell you is that from my expierience and 3 other friends, they are 100% reef safe. In 4 tanks they have never bothered anything.

It may be a coincidence but the larger the numbers grew the less algea I had in my tank. I have absolutly no algea what so ever now and I think its because of these wonderfull little snails.
