I'm in the process (still) of cycling my tank, and just recently added a cup or two of live sand from a friends tank. Three days after the addition I noticed that there are these very small wriggly creatures floating around. It's now day 3 since I noticed them and the largest of them have grown to approximately 2-3mm in size.
They are very thin, stark white, no visible eye/mouth/antennae, and one end is "plumper" than the other, giving the appearance of having a head. There are at least 100 of these things floating around.
I stopped the powerhead (they were just randomly floating all through the water), and those that didn't float down into the sand stuck themselves to the glass. They shoot around surprisingly fast for their tiny size, and the "head" end is actually a "tail" (judging by their direction).
I apologize for the lack of a photo, but based on the description - can anyone give me a clue as to what these might be?
