I'm 95% sure this is some type of sponge. This is just the end of it. It is secured to the rock with a very small "foot", for lack of a better term, as you would see in a gorgonian. The base has around 3 tiny holes in it, and it sends out a long thin branch like this. There are several in the tank, this is the longest one. It grows very fast. Anyone know what it is, or have anything similar?

I've seen it come in on corals before, but as for an Id, dunno. It does grow fast, and comes in several colors.

It's easy enough to prune, but I've noticed it makes polyps retract when it comes in contact with them.

I've seen them on rock and macroalgaes at Harbor when I was there in the past. That's about all I know.
