Turbinaria peltata coral.

Completely bleached (expelled zooxanthellae) anemone - probably Entacmaea quadricolor. Possibly Heteractis malu.

Because its bleached, bright light will likely damage it. If its a bubble tip (E. quadricolor) it will stick its foot into a crack and "hide" from the light while pushing just its tentacles out.

There are almost no truly white reef organisms. If you see one bright white, its likely severely stressed/bleached. Let us know how the anemone does.

My anemone was brought to me like that and has thrived. He is always fully extended right in the path of light and readily eats shrimp. He is white with little purple on the tips and a pinkish/orange color on the underside. he has grown since I put him in the tank.

I have had that particular anemone for 6months now...It also has a clown for a companion(A. Clarkii)...If it is supposed to have color, how do i get it back??? He does feed and he likes to be more towards the bottom, he doesnt seem sick and distressed though, but again it cant tell me with so many words...

Turbinaria peltata...whats the common name for it...??? I knew it was either that or some sort of tubastea...I am not as good yet recognizing the corals yet...

turbinaria is 'pagoda' coral-more an 'lps' than an 'sps'

fairly hardy, and easy to keep

supaboy,

That sounds like a condylactis. The pink tips are the zooanthellae, and they're supposed to look like that! :D

My guess is sebae... they appear white on a glance and have purple tips (not pink).
