Colony of aptasia?? Should i eradicate?

Hello, i am 6 months into this hobby with a 8 gallon nanoreef doing great. could anyone please ID the brown patch of aptasia looking hitchhikers . Since this pic was taken two months ago the colony has gotten very dense and carpet-like with individual length aproaching 1", it hasn't spread to adacent rocks or any where else in tank since the tank started 6monts ago. is it harmful?

That's not Aiptasia. That's either Anthelia or star polyps. Don't kill them as they're a nice coral.
