I will get a pic later, but as best as i can describe it it is a button type looking thing with soft tentacles comming out of it. I have several of them on my rock.

Lets try for a little more details.....

How old is the tank (or how long has the rock been in the tank)?
Where is the rock from? Fiji? Carribean?
Do the tentacles appear to come out of a stoney base or just attached to the rock?
Color? Clear?

Any of those might help us to guess what it is you are seeing...

Also, have you checked the hitchhiker faq? reefs.org/hhfaq

yes i have tried the faq.....the tanks age doesnt matter as i just added the rock yesterday. The rock is from florida (gulf-view) and the tentacles appear to be comming out of a stony base. They are clear. thanks

I'm thinking what you are seeing is a type of Astrangia coral. Common on the florida rock... it rarely survives long term though. If you want to keep it you might consider a direct feeding routine. Small meaty particles would be best.

Yep. Thats the booger. Tough to keep alive... I'd really suggest feeding it directly.

Good luck with it!
