Hello belleric, and welcome to Reefs.org. The 2nd picture really looks like aiptasia. I bought 1 pepperment to battle aiptasia with no luck. They don't always eat it. I bought 6 peppermint and the aip's were gone in 2 days, and never came back.

I hope that helps! :)

Thanks. I thought it might be something different because it is much bigger than the other aiptasia I had in my tank. I have three peppermint shrimp that ate the smaller ones. This one is about 3 inches across and has more of a glow under the actinic lights then the others did, the others were a drab brown. It is also hidden between the rocks (that is why the second picture is so blurry). Maybe this is the mother of the smaller ones I get?
