Reefer
It just sort of started growing one day. It's red and waves in the current. For the most part it is soft, flat, and thin and seems to be "branching" out now. It reminders me of lichen off of an old tree. Any ideas? Thx

Honestly can't quite tell yet unless clearer pics are taken with details shown through. But heck, judging by the color of it, let it grow! It can't be something too bad. I do not recall pests that comes in that color!

w/out a better pic-my first guess would be a red macroalgae-from your 'soft, flat, thin' description, and the 'lichen' analogy.

i've never seen a red colt coral

and i agree with danm-doubt it's anything harmful

my lfs has about 5 colt corals that are a redish pink color they are very nice looking but im unsure if they really are a colt or not so im waiting a month or so to see if they shrink or not.
