I've got a bunch of pods or some kind of little bug. Can't get a pic, and I have been unable to find a pic in any of the ID guides. They're everywhere even in my skimmer. The larger ones are about 1/4 inch long, oval body and the tail part looks as if it has 2 "tail sticks" protruding back and outward from the sides.

Any ideas??

99.9% likely that they are amphipods based on your description, have a glance at the hitchiker FAQ...

They are a good sign in the tank... the only other readily apparent option is copepods, but they are rarely ever seen at that size associated with reef tanks.

I looked through that before, but didn't see what I'm looking for. My critter doesn't curl up like your typical amphipod. I'm sure what I have is harmless and good for the tank, but I'm curious what it is.

Thanks!
