Within the last two days I noticed that my huge orange colony polyps weren't really opened. Only about half of them were open. I went through the pictures from the FAQ's but I didn't see what I found on them. I wish I had a digital camera to show you, but I don't so I'll try and explain what I saw. It was small clusters of these tiny brown slug looking things with green veins. I couldn't tell if they were eggs or some kind of bug or nudi. They were about a millimeter big each and each cluster had about 20. I did find in my tank two small snails that looked similar to the Arene snail from the FAQ's page, but the photo isn't that good. It also looks like the heliacus but it doesn't have the black center or the cone bottom. The center is white and neither of the snails were on the polyps. I attached the photos from the FAQ's. The first picture looks closer to the snail that I saw. Can I do some kind of dip on the polyps to get rid of whatever these are without hurting the coral? Any ideas?

Ooops! I put the snail photos in the wrong order. The one on the bottom called snail1.jpg is the one closer to what it looks like.

The snails in the bottom pic (with the blue cast) are perfectly safe. The key to the nasty snail is the cone-shaped operculum. The ones I've seen are usually nickel-sized or larger.

The snails are about an 1/8" without the cone on the bottom. The only problem is they weren't even around the polyps. I read the FAQ's and that was the only thing that resembled what I saw that eats polyps. What else would eat them? I really have to get a digital camera.
