I am having a really hard time figuring out what this is. Unfortunately, the only way I can see it is at a fairly big angle so it is somewhat blurred no matter what i do. Here are two pics.
It is that little thing in the bottom of the shell, at first I thought it was covered by a hard disc, but after watching it for a while it looks like it may be two "arms" that make up the circle. It seems like it is made of hard material, and I've never seen it leave it's spot. I've also never seen it extend any sort of feeding appendages which just adds to the mystery. The only reason I know it's alive is because if i startle it, it quickly backs itself up as far as it can.
