New Reefer
I have noticed a new type of (button?) coral that appears to be quick growth and not friendly (I think). It looks simular to a green button, tends to be seen in single units but spread out. The arms are short to the side but a 2nd row of arms are upward. It is NOT aiptasia. It is greenish brown (solid, not translucent), single oral opening in the center. The larger ones have pale rings on the arms. Other corals do not like contacting this coral. I've not seen this type in 15 years keeping reefs but it gets around like something I may not want to keep. I don't have an image (yet) but will try to get one.

Ideas?

Advanced Reefer
Or, if I may edit Chucker's post, Anemonia majano. Do a search in Google.com should yield you thousands of sightings.

I typically use rigid air tubing to shred it and sucking up whatever I shredded and scraping and sucking whatever remains on the rocks. Finally I use a thick kalk paste to melt off what ever remains.

After reading Calfo's books, I found he has a interesting idea of creating a aiptasia scrubber where he intentionally breed and slice up these aiptasia and majanos to populate the tank. He is using their efficient food capturing tentacles to polish the water.

Something to think about.
