What is this???

In my tank there is a marble sized semisphere. It seems to be made up of many smaller balls all about 1/8-1/4" in diameter. Each ball is clear with an opaque white center. Right next to this there is another marble sized mass, but this one looks like a solid white semisphere with a clear semisphere around it.
Any guesses?

Either a white tunicate, or an egg mass for some critter. A picture would be helpful.

Many polychaete worms deploy their egg masses in a mucus blob that dissolves over time. It is possible this is what you are seeing.
