Is it a Coral?

In the center of the picture are two about two inch brown stalks.They have appeared from nothing and are now about a year old.They are pliable to the touch and have nodules on them that look like where polyps would emerge. But I have never seen anything that looks like a polyp. They are in a 1O gallon with 2 x 15 NO

I haven't a clue as to what the stalks are but I LOVE them blue 'shrooms!

I asked the same question on reef central. The consesus including Eric Borneman is that the stalks are sponges. The blue 'shrooms are pretty nice the biggest one is about 5 inches in diameter when fully expanded. It is also the permanent home for my tiny tomatoe clown.
