If any one is interested in this historic batch of clownfish, I have a few for sale.

http://www.manhattanreefs.com/forum...d-couple-percula-onyx-x-ocellaris-darwin.html

I have found a way to get them to NYC without having to ship them. Dom (Domboski on the boards here) has agree to carry them back to NYC for a small fee (much less that what it would take to ship them). I am meeting up with him in Lancaster for the NCPARS/TFP fragswap on jan 31st. He will bring the fish back with him to NYC. It will be your responsibility to pick them up from him.

All payments to be made apriori via paypal. The fish will be $40 each + $5 shipping, handling and transportation per fish. So $45/fish.

Let me know if you are interested. I will cap off at 24 or so, otherwise I would be dipping into the smaller fish.

sanjay.

I'll Keep track of the fish in this thread:

Yeah, you will be pairing up brother sister.. but since these are first generation it wont be a problem. In fact with clownfish you can go several generations of pairing before you start to see ill effects.

Color mutations and fixing of strains is done by inbreeding.

The ones I have in my 55G tank have turned darker.

I am starting to find that the environment is playing a role in the rate of development of the black color. The ones in my 55G tank have turned the darkest, the ones I put in the overflow box of my tank have developed less black, and the ones I have in the grow out tank with dim lighting are quite orange.

I took the most orange one I could find and put it in the 55G reef, and in 2 weeks it has significantly darker.

This is my experience so far.

There are really no guarantees as to how individuals will turn out. That is the risk you take.. hence the lower price on the fish. If I knew what exactly they would become, it would take several months more and the fish would then cost a whole lot more !!

How big are these? I have a false perc now and would like to pair him up with a clown. He's not that big though like 1 1/2" in body or so.

If you already have a single fish, you want 2nd fish smaller than the one you have. That will ensure that yours will become the female and the new one the male.

The fish I have are at different sizes. Biggest ones are almost 1.75" and smaller ones upto .5"

here is a picture from today of the "blackest" one. Note pectoral fin on this one has almost gone completely black, just a little bit of orange in the center. The mother has a lot of orange in the pectoral fin.

The ones you will get will be somewhere in between the pictures that Dom posted of the juvis and this one.
