Wanted to get user's opinion on:
Does adding a 2nd RO membrane of the same size to your existing RO system really reduce your waste water to a ratio of 1:1 provided that you have at least 90 PSI currently coming out of your RO now?
I see a lot of RO suppliers selling the piggy back kit now and stating that it will cut your waste water by more then half or a 1:1 ratio but I also remember reading a thread from Buckeye a few years ago that it isn't all that true.

Will only cut down on waste water if u plumb the waste line from the first membrane to the input of the second membrane.

If you run them parallel, your output ratio will still be about 4:1 waste to RO.

Hooked up one for a friend here in Socal few months ago, it cut down waste water for sure but no where near 1:1. He lived in a newer constructed home and I was able to take water before the main pressure regulator, 90psi without a booster.
