Yesterday I was over Under Water Creations to look at the two flaming prawn gobies when one of the owner told me that a MR member stole them. So I asked him what do you mean? Did you sell them for much less than they asking price? And he replied again that they were stolen. They were in their own little container with a pair of sexy shrimp and when they weren't looking the MR member took the container with the 2 gobies and shrimp and left the store. Needless to say they are a little pissed off.

 That is bad.

You know what. This is detestable and deplorable. It gives MR a bad name and hurts the pocket of one of our vendors.

:grumpy: The member should be dealt with accordingly!!!

thats horrible! just because they're expensive fish doesn't mean you can steal them! Sure everybody has their fish wish list, but stealing them is dissapointing to the vendor and fellow MR members.

If the person who did this is reading this, i'd just like to say, do not try to hide the fact you stole them. NOT TO MENTION WE DO HAVE A POLICE OFFICER ON THIS SITE. Only time will tell until we find out. What's the point of having them? you stole them. your fish are worthless. fish mean something. "he was a gift from so and so" "I saved up all my money to buy this fish" but not"this is my prized fish. i stole it."You should go back to underwater creations, return the fish and shrimp and apologize. Sure, you will get in trouble, but probably less trouble than if you are caught not returning the fish. You are a disgrace to MR. we praise our vendors for offering us discounts and exotics, and you take advantage of their kindness. Sure Greenwich Aquaria has open tanks, i could just reach my hand in and grab a few corals and run, but it's just wrong! MR has made a great amount of trust with our vendors and you just distroyed it.

I am really sad to read this thread and am sorry for the financial loss to Under Water Creations. If you want to take this further on the MR site please PM me.

Manhattanreefs has 3,121 present members, so it is naive to think that all of them will behave in a manner that gives MR a good name. We have already had bad seeds here in the past. BUT the majority of the members are some of the best people on the planet, IMO, so it is always terrible when one bad act hurts the reputation of the rest.

Dennis, Todd, Camilo and Mike are outstanding folks from Underwater Creations who will break their backs to ensure customer satisfaction.

This news is very disheartening, not only as a member of MR, but also as a person of this hobby.
I cannot believe someone can do this to them.

If this individual is willing to steal from a commercial store, I can only imagine what this person is capable of doing to an innocent local reefer on the board.

I don't think this person is a mr member...Why would they announce this before stealing something:irked:..... Would you introduce yourself before committing a crime:irked:..... They probably viewed from the outside... Come on now...
But I do feel bad for the store...

Feel so sorry for our fellow vendor. I had the same experience. Last year , when I brought my stuff to the swap at Sean's store in its final days, I lost couple bags of shrimps and fish too when I left them to my kids to take care. It was only 10-20 mintues thing, I just went to pick up things from House and when I came back I don't see them any more. I got a great deal from Sean for a whole bunch of lights and that ease up my anger. That's one reason I have not joined the swap as vendor anymore. I rather just bring friends to check out the hobby. I just cannot keep my things on my table.

I can't even count how much money I have lost from thieves but thankfully I don't do retail anymore. It's strange how you have to trust but not trust everyone that walks into your store. Part of why store owners can come off as a$$holes they can't trust you and stare you down an have to watch your every move.

ya know when you really think about it, it's pretty sad someone would steal fish. equiptment i could see to a degree, not that thats any better, but you have to be pretty pathetic to steal some fish. maybe they got the person's name. and truelly i think they should be exposed on here for future refferance if anyone else goes to do business, if they will steal fish they will steal other stuff
