Poly Pads are meant to be used in special circumstances like having to remove a particular metal/chemical from your tank.
Why are you using them on an on-going basis?

They're not that expensive, you can find them on-line for 3 for $18 or so. Where are you get them?

I run them inbetween my baffles and they last for quite sometime, and I think you can recharge them too. Here is there website below, there maybe some info on cleaning them out. When they're shot I use them as cleaning pads.

Maybe I'm using the wrong wording its not the brand poly but its that type of material that is in my drip tray on my wet dry its the same material like the filter socks only in sheets

You can rinse those in tank water in a bucket to preserve what ever live is in them, or in just plain water if you don't care about possible live in them.;)
When I ran wet/dry I just rinsed them in water until they got to thin to use any further.:)

Most people use the socks to catch debris coming from the tank.

The micron sheets are very hard to clean( same stuff socks are made of) Why not try the blue and white material that is sold in rolls or pre-cut pieces. It is very inexpensive and can be just be thrown out when it is blocked. Just about any LFS sells it

You don't need to go broke if you do a little search in your backyard. You can get that fabric Downtown in the Fabric District for a few $ a yard. Just take a sample with you.

I use to rinse and reuse them. Now i use just a small piece in the over flow
sometime...

So your using bio balls? is this a reef tank?

No i have live rock in the chamber where the bio balls would've gone i removed the tray and placed live rock on the bottom the name of the wet/dry slips my mind right now and i can't see it under the tank but it has three chambers and dual down pipes which causes an up flow into the drip tray and yes its a reef

he meant gfo... dude if i were you i would take out some of that rumble in that compartment since 90 percent of your rock is in your DT and the rocks arent doing much down there and add a filter sock in there instead. its a heck of alot cheaper then using the poly pad. keep the pads for an emergency
