will that tang be okay in a 90gal? I see over at liveaquaria that they suggest a 150gal for this fish. If others think it will be ok, I'll take it pending pics.

Clown Tang

What are your tank upgrade plans? A 90g is a lot smaller than a 150g. A 2" clown tang in a 90g is fine, but what happens when it gets mean

and upwards of 12"?

I absolutely agree it needs a tank at least 6' long.

I can get you other tangs as well. LMK what species you'd be interested in.

Thanks for inquiring BEFORE making a purchase. Responsible reefkeeping at its best. :flower:

Not to mention that they have a very bad surival rate. They also don't get along with a lot of other tangs and in a 90g if you do have any other tangs they most likely will fight.

I'm upgrading now so I don't expect to be upgrading again anytime soon. Thanks for the tip. Masterswimmer, which tang would you recommend that would be appropriate in a 90gal with the same body shape? Not looking for tang like a yellow or purple.

I have a beautiful blue Hippo Tang that eats anything I put in the tank. Including Formula One Marine pellets right from my hand. Frozen foods he eats are: Mysis, blood worms, daphnia, spirulina brine shrimp, cyclopeeze, just to name a few.

Clown tang,
One of the meanest tangs that I have encountered but also I would rate it as nice as a Sohal.
Marrone is correct about their survival rate so if you have one that's acclimated like Russ has than your 50% there already.
