This is the tank that I bought from Lennyd19 a few months ago.
My sketch of what the plumbing and tank should look like when I'm done.
Tank:
45G Euro braced starphire glass tank.
Dimensions. 24"x18"x24"
Tank has an external overflow with two drains. It is also drilled on each top corners for returns and in the bottom for a spray bar.
Stand was an AGA 75g/90g stand that I modified. I built the canopy from scratch. I'm not too happy with these so as soon as I move I will have the sump/euipemnt in a different room so I will be able to have a pro build me a stand and canopy.
Equipment
Custom acrylic sump (By Kimoyo) with a top off chambered built in. The top off chamber holds about 3g of water. The RO/DI filter will fill the chamber automatically.
Dimension: 26"x16"x15".
Skimmer: MRC MR-1
Return pump: Blueline 40
Skimmer Pump: Velocity T3
Wavemaker: Oceansmotion 4 way
Controller: AC JR, JBJ ATO
Ligthing: 250w DE HQI powered by an Ice Cap ballast and 2 x 18" VHO URI super actinic powered by Ice Cap 430 ballast. Moon lights are the Neptune Dimmable Lunar Simulator - 2 LED.
RO/DI: Airwaterice Dual HOME/REEF 6 stage unit.
Optional Equipment that I'm undecided about.
MRC Dual chamber calcium reactor or Litermeter 2 part doser.
Livestock:
I plan on keeping a mix reef.
Top: SPS (few selected pieces)
Middle: Acans, and Micromussa
Bottom: Zoanthids/ Palys, and rics/yuma.
Shaded Area: sun corals
Fish:
Pair of GSM clowns. I was going to keep a pair but my male was killed by a powerhead so I might save some cash and buy a picasso pair or Onyx pair. 1m 2f flame wrasse
1 cleaner wrasse
Pair of Harlequin Shrimps (will keep a few linkias in sump for food.)
I have about 80lbs of live fiji and marco rocks that I will choose from to create the aquascape. I'm only going to use about 40 to 50 lbs.
I hope you guys enjoy.
Enough talking now on to the pictures
When I bought it, it looked like this.
I wasn't happy with the plain stand so I made a few mods.
And I decided to cover the nice euro brace with an ugly canopy.
Canopy Frame
It's starting to take shape.
Done
PLUMBING
Here I'm dry fitting the pvc to make sure I measured right.
Here the PVC has been glued and painted grey, I also drilled the sump and added the bulkheads.
Testing for leaks. So far so good.
Surface movement
External Overflow
Sump
No micro bubbles in the main tank. I pretty happy because that was my biggest concern.
The next shot will be of electrical wiring and maybe aquascaping. Depends how much time I have with the holidays coming up around the corner.
Current/Temp tank (QT tank holding my corals)
