Dj Orion's 24 Aquapod HQI

Well, after running my 12g jbj for the past 6 months, and after inadvertantly scoring a 24 hqi setup for a super cheap price, I decided to take the opportunity to upgrade my reef into this new setup.

I went with a:
maxi jet 900 pump
Koralia k1
150w phoenix 14k bulb
tunze micro pump (not its real name, but its the super small one they make)
30 pounds live rock (Lalo, Australian, and tonga fusion)
4" sandbed of figi pink and standard fine grain aragonite

I am going to install a fuge and skimmer once the dust settles. I just got some new corals in the mail today, so i decided to motivate this upgrade before I acclimate them. (acans and zoo's)

(dont worry, this tank isnt completely new, it was all of the contents of my other tank, including sand, rock and all of its water)

I am also planning on moving in the next few months, so I am going to purchase a proper stand for the tank as well.

I went by hubby's job today, and slammed my hand down on my horn, and kept it there because the UPS guy dropped a box out of the back of his truck while backing up. And proceeded to back up over it. He managed to squish the corner of someone's package. Some body is not going to be very happy.

Holy crap is more like it! I am gonna let these acans acclimate and then post pix of what they gave me. For 35 bux i got 5 amazing frags of aussie acans, and a free zoanthid. I also got another one that I ordered.

What a great way to start up the tank!!!!

Thanks guys, the tank is really coming together. I am just in the process of getting a 6 line wrasse, and some hermits. I inherited a pair of false perc clowns with the tank, and I had one in my 12g nano, so I think I am going to give one away. Let me know if anyone wants it.

Its a cool little fish, I just dont want the three fish that i can have in my tank to be all clowns. Unless a fourth fish wont be too much on the bioload.... I wanted to keep the bioload really light, it makes things so much more managable.

Just got this mag rack in the mail, I know i could have just made one myself, but the way this guy makes these with the magnets is better than anything i could have done. (alot cleaner looking)

well, I am going to be moving, so here is a few updated pix of new additions and mods to the aquapod. I added a 14000k pheonix 150w mh bulb, cpr aquafuge with acrylic stands and light. I also added a purple and green Blasto, green acan, maroon/gold stripe clown, 6 line wrasse, and watchman goby. Will add more corals once I relocate the tank and get everything settled in.
