So after many builds and breakdowns, I'm going to really put time and patience into this one. After breaking down my 280 due to money issues and i was'nt really ready for such a big tank. I would've love to still have that one and set it back up, but it's gone. So my lawyer FINALLY (after six years) came through, and besides taking the family to Disney this year I got the o.k. from the wife to do this build. As long as i agree to it being the last one for a long time (she's fed up with the builds too). From a 75 to 170 to 280 to present 30 qube in just 2 years. Have to agree with the wife on this one.
Now to the build. I got a good deal on a 4ft glass 110 with the stand, t5 light and quite one pump. It will be in the basement. On the other side of the wall behind the tank will be all the equipment. I always loved the sump rooms and getting me hands in there with the equipment. The exciting part i'm looking foward to is the fuge tank that will be under the DT. I am going to make it a peacock mantis shrimp home.
Now on to the equipment. All the tanks that I will be using is from my old builds.
110 DT new to me, but from another member
30 fuge/mantis home
75 sump
65 RO for top off
65 salt mixing tank
30 frag/qt/water change
New items:
110 lbs brs pukani rock (just got it yesterday)
2 mp40 es
marineland led for the fuge/mantis tank
skimmer (either reef octopus or swc)
2 next reef reactors
mag 5 for mixing salt
I think thats it for now. I'll get more into detail as the build goes on.

brs pukani rock

I got 110 lbs yesterday. I'm very happy with it. There's alot more then 110 lbs. Some really big ones witch i like because i can break it to the size i like. Alot of of medium size and a alot of crushed peices. I'm going to use them for the sump/mantis tank. I also got alot of little pieces from breaking the bigger ones up. Now as far as getting this rock ready, I'm going to have it in a brute pale with water change water from my 30 gallon and perform a water change on it once a week. I heard alot about this rock leaching phosphates. I was going to soak it in lith. cloride but with the snow and it being cold i really did'nt want to do it in my house. Since i have the time because i'm not going to put any live stock in for atleast 4 weeks i've started my own little experiment. I've put 5 gallons on water from my 30 and about 25 gallons of fresh saltwater in a large brute, tested for phosphates and it came up 0 with no rock. Then added the rock and two days later still 0. I hope it goes well. Anyway here is the rock.

It's been awhile but i've still been busy with the tank build. I wasn't able to post pics. It's been over a week with the rock curing and i'm still testing for phosephates like every 3 days and still at 0.
So here's a couple pics of where the tank will go and the equipment room.
Tank will be on the right side.

I got around to making a platform for the DT because the drain and return lines would'nt have cleared the top of the sump on the other side. It's made of 2x4's so it's only 3.5" taller. I kinda like it a bit higher anyway. Just not sure if i'm gonna paint just the platform or paint the whole thing black.

Also got the mixing tanks in place. I know it's overkill with them being 65 gallons but i had them just laying around.

Did alittle work over the last couple of days. I finished ripping the old sump stand apart. I used the wood to build the ro and salt tanks stand and used it for under the sump with stryrofoam. I drilled the ro tank for the float valve, so the tube isn't going over the tank. I also made my filter sock holder.

With Richies help we cut a 1/4" piece of acrylic so that the sock sits on it. Then cut another 1/4" alittle bigger then the sock and glued them together. This way the water dose'nt have to go over the sock instead it falls in the sock.

Then painted it. It was my first time gluing acrylic so you can imagine how many bubbles i had. I did'nt like the way it came out, I'm picky. So i painted it with kylon fusion. Did alot of research and heard it was reef safe.
