I did lose some of my mushrooms as during the dip they just fell off the rock. Im sure they found a new home but likely not in a place where I would like. Some have told me that you can super glue them to a rock but I have has little success with it.
Im gonna post some pics of them. I used RO and matched the temp. The toadstool has recovered nicely and so has the ricordia mushroom. The others however are shriveled up but not flaking away.
I had some flatworms on my mushrooms and did I fresh water dip yesterday. It looks like the flatworms fell off however I think the mushrooms are dead.
How long does it usually take for them to recover if they're not dead?
I think I'm going to take a pic of them and post it....perhaps some of...
Danmhippo,
I see what you're talking about with the toadstool. I just did the dip on all my mushrooms and the toadstool and just like you said they started falling off.
Do you think I should do a dip every few days to be sure I got them all? I couldn't get all of them off on the 1st dip and I...
Danmhippo,
You see them on the toadstool as well? Where?
So the spots on the mushrooms are flatworms?
And you're saying that after the freshwater dip the spots she disappear/
Thanks for the compliments. This tank had gone thru a major crash last month and its just now starting to recover.
The cam I used is an Olympus C2100 Digital cam.
It's a 90 gal tank with a CPR wet/dry...removed all the bio bale and let the live rock be a major part of the filtration...
I haven't been able to successfully post pics on here. So here goes another try.
Hope this works and hope you all like my reef. I'm fairly new to the hobby.
According to the temp map it shows the Great Barrier reef coming in at around 26º or 27ºC in the summer months and around 24º to 25ºC in the winter. Based on that information it shows that the temps never really climb above 80ºF.
Now I dont know the locations of other reefs around the world so...
I still need to know if the MH hoods can be placed right on top of the tank or do they need to be suspended above open water.
Also, do Actinic bulbs serve a purpose other than making the tank more pleasing to the eye? I do run my Actinics for an hour before my main lights come on just to take...
I'm interested in getting my 1st SPS or acro but I dont think I have enough lighting. I have 3 strips of 110w PC lighting in my 90gal tank. The layout is as follows:
front strip: 110w Actinic PC
middle: 110w 10k PC
back: 110w 50/50 PC
I'm look to buy a new MH/PC combo hood and throw in 2 250w...
